I was in a second-hand record store in Newcastle. It was the summer of 2003, I was about to turn 21 and it was a swinging, swaggering time.
 
My hair was long and shaggy like Keith Moon (photographic evidence suggests it was actually closer to David Cassidy), I only listened to Sixties music, and had discovered all there was to unearth from this era.
 
I was very easy to dislike.
 
A friend and myself were browsing aimlessly (Newcastle!) and heard what were hands-down two of the best Sixties psych-pop gems we had ever heard. It was a Kevin Arnold moment. We couldn’t believe it and as we went up to sneak a look at what amazing nugget from the past was on the turntable, track three came on, and it was ‘Stacy’s Mom’…
